REV. MARK H. CREECH — I remember that kick-in-the-gut feeling I had when, after more than 12 years of my own sweat and toil to preserve marriage in this state as "one man and one woman," one federal judge overturned everything – only one. Later five judges on the U.S. Supreme Court did the same for the entire country – only five people overturned everything. Now I am experiencing that same kick-in-the-gut feeling again. Today, members of the U.S. Senate, with the help of a few Republicans, whose party platform states clearly its support for traditional marriage, voted to enshrine same-sex marriage into federal law.... 'You will eat everything that moves and be happy'
PJ MEDIA — I spend a pretty penny to ensure all visible bugs are removed from my home using environmentally friendly products. It would vex me greatly if I ever found them in my pantry, kitchen cabinets, or refrigerator. Yet there is a never-ending push from the media to soften me up to the idea I should eat bugs. The latest installment comes from the Washington Post, and I remain unconvinced. First, the article describes a young girl popping a mealworm in her mouth at an event to encourage entomophagy or eating bugs. Reportedly, six-year-old Adaline Welk exclaimed, “It’s not that bad! It kind of tastes like kettle corn!” It is unclear whether she was referring to the crunch or the flavor, but I would have to bet on the former.... (more)

DENNIS PRAGER — What would you think of a person who never asked the price of anything he or she bought? You would assume the person was inordinately wealthy. But if the person wasn't, you would dismiss him as a fool, and you would certainly never ask this person for advice about how to spend your money. Yet, for two years, that question — "What is the price?" — was avoided by virtually every political leader in the world as well as the vast majority of epidemiologists and physicians, journalists and editors, college presidents, deans, professors and K-12 teachers.... JUST THE NEWS — The earliest demographics to get COVID-19 vaccines, such as healthcare workers, reported a surprisingly high rate of serious complications from them, according to data the CDC turned over under court order. Among the 10 million-plus users of the agency's v-safe active monitoring smartphone app through July — 8.5 million of whom signed up between December 2020 and April 2021, before all adults were eligible for COVID vaccines — nearly 8% said they required medical care after receiving the vaccines.... THE FEDERALIST — Constituents of the 12 Republican senators who voted to advance Democrats’ wrongly named Respect for Marriage Act strongly oppose the legislation because they know it poses a risk to the First Amendment rights of religious Americans, a new poll from the Heritage Foundation found. Different polling in October claimed that voters in “key battleground” states including Alaska, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, North Carolina, Utah, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming were more likely to vote for senators who pledged to vote for the legislation.... 'Socially acceptable opinions beaten into us by a tyrannical and narrow-minded culture'
WORLDNETDAILY — America's Constitution assures citizens of freedom of religion, even the freedom to exercise one's faith, but a new commentary from the Washington Examiner is warning that's gone. In fact, American society now is "inching toward an increasingly illiberal society, one in which, as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggested to his citizens, will 'move beyond 'tolerate,' and start embracing, and loving, and accepting.'... The responses from election workers in key battleground districts and states around the country showed a mostly calm election cycle compared to 2020, with one massive and overwhelming exception. In Maricopa County, Arizona, election workers were appalled and aghast at how things had been run there.... (more)

JUST THE NEWS — The same day retiring National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease Director Anthony Fauci urged Americans to get the new Omicron-targeting COVID-19 boosters, a sister agency accidentally pulled the rug out from under him. The so-called bivalents, composed of the outdated BA.4/5 subvariants and Wuhan strain, have less than 50% absolute vaccine effectiveness (aVE) against symptomatic infection for every vaccinated adult age group compared to the unvaccinated, according to the CDC's Nov. 22 Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. It's particularly bad for those 65 and up: just 22% aVE.... (more)

Opponents of gay marriage will be 'driven from the public square'
ART MOORE — Some evangelical Christian figures and the Mormon church are supporting the federal Respect for Marriage Act, which effectively would codify the Obergefell Supreme Court decision that created a right for same-sex couples to obtain a marriage license. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints explained in a statement that it still holds to marriage as the union of one man and one woman but believes the bill is the "way forward." "As we work together to preserve the principles and practices of religious freedom together with the rights of LGBTQ individuals, much can be accomplished to heal relationships and foster greater understanding," the LDS statement said.... Lee shared a statement from Roger Severino, vice president of domestic policy at the Heritage Foundation, who asserted the bipartisan bill would be "used as a cudgel against those who believe in the reality of marriage as between a man and a woman."...
