Christian Smalls
Keynote Speaker
Christian Smalls is the President and co-founder of the Amazon Labor Union. He is a former Amazon worker who was fired in March of 2020 after he organized an historic walkout to protest Amazon’s poor response to COVID-19 and failure to protect warehouse workers from infection. Chris is also one of the founders of The Congress of Essential Workers, a collaborative network of workers and allies fighting for the elimination of billionaires, for wealth redistribution, and to protect the working class from exploitative CEOs.

Peter Gale
Lifetime Achievement Award
Peter Gale has spent more than 50 years in the struggle to forward social and political movements for working people. After joining the Communist Party of the United States in 1971, Peter committed his time to building the Party and forwarding revolutionary movements in Pennsylvania, New York, and nationally. Along the way, he fought tirelessly for his legal clients to get justice. Join us to honor his lifetime of work.

Jawanza James
Jawanza James Williams is a Black, radical queer, prison abolitionist, socialist, feminist, christian organizer engaged in local and state politics in New York. In 2020, they were one of the leaders in organizing local George Floyd Uprisings and in the Occupy City Hall encampment to demand action against police brutality. As the Director of Organizing at VOCAL-NY, they organize for Black liberation, universal housing, prison abolition, and an end to the AIDS epidemic.

Jennifer Lenz
Jenn Lenz is a Starbucks worker who led the organizing drive to win the first union with Starbucks Workers United in Illinois. They organize nationally with Starbucks Workers United, coordinating strikes and worker actions at hundreds of shops across the country. She is also a national organizer with the Restaurant Organizing Project and a leader in the Illinois Young Communist League.
