John, not long ago, this huge victory was nearly unthinkable. 

But thanks to the tireless efforts of LGBTQ+ advocates, especially the work of queer people of color and trans people who have risked their lives for generations in the fight for equal rights, our nation has taken a massive step forward. 

In the coming days, the House will vote to pass the bill and send it to President Biden's desk for his signature. 

We know the fight for LGBTQ+ equality is far from over. 

Republican politicians continue to demonize trans children.2 LGBTQ+ people are significantly more likely to be living in poverty.3 And just days ago, a man murdered five people in a queer nightclub and safe space in Colorado Springs.4

Today we celebrate. Tomorrow we redouble our commitment to defeat hate and homophobia.
