John, early voting is underway in Georgia, and we want you to take a quick look at some of the numbers:
- Early voting began in just a few counties last Saturday — yet, at least 70,000 people turned out to vote that day.1
- On Monday, the record was broken for early voter turnout in a single day in Georgia.2
- …And on Tuesday, voters in Georgia broke that record again, with 1 million ballots total now already cast.3
Don’t get us wrong: A surge like this in early voting is great to see.
But according to the New York Times, even at this record-breaking pace, turnout “appears unlikely to match early voting turnout levels from the 2021 runoffs,” when Democrats won both the state’s Senate seats.4
There are many reasons as to why early voting turnout might not reach what it did in 2021 — state-sanctioned voter suppression, reducing the length of early voting, fewer polling locations open, and it being a non-presidential election year, to start — but no matter the reason, we need to get out the vote. And we need your help to do that, John.
With just five days left in the Georgia runoff, can you make a donation today to help us reach out to, then turn out, as many voters as possible? By making a donation today, you’re supporting our staff and volunteers on the ground and helping send more texts, make more calls, and knock on more doors to reach more voters.
