Emgage will co-host a special virtual Muslim Get Out The Vote event for Georgia’s runoff elections on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 7 pm EST. The event will feature U.S. Representative Rashida Tlaib, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, U.S. Representative André Carson, Georgia State Senator-Elect Nabilah Islam, Georgia State Sentator Sheikh Rahman, Georgia State Representative-Elect Ruwa Romman, and Georgia State Representative Furuq Mughal.
Partners include CAIR Georgia, Emgage, Georgia Muslim Voter Project, Majlis Ashura of Metro Atlanta, The Table, and Voices.
“When our communities vote, we are showing up for the neighborhood we live in and the communities we are a part of. We are making sure our voices are heard. Voting is beyond the candidates, it is about ensuring we have an inclusive and people-centered democracy,” said Rep. Tlaib.
Georgia’s runoff election, scheduled for Tuesday, December 6, 2022, is between incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock and challenger Herschel Walker. Down-ticket races are also set in certain counties.
“Emgage is thrilled to have the opportunity to co-host this event on the eve of a critically important election. We are looking forward to encouraging every Muslim in Georgia to vote on December 6,” said Emgage CEO Wa’el Alzayat.
