John,

Throughout the year, we’ve kept you updated about the fight to electrify the Postal Service’s fleet. Well, we’ve got big news for you: Thanks to the hard work of climate activists and our SEEC members in Congress, the first of the agency’s 34,000 zero-emission mail trucks will begin rolling out next year!

This huge victory would not have been possible without the support of folks like you, John — but this is just the beginning. President Biden is planning on making ALL federal vehicles electric, and we need your help to make sure he gets it done. Will you sign this petition calling for the full transition to clean energy for all federal vehicles? [[link removed]]

SIGN ON [[link removed]]The rollout of the USPS’ green fleet is a monumental achievement, but it did not come easy. Despite President Biden’s executive order to have all federal vehicle purchases be zero-emission by 2035, Trump-appointed Postmaster General DeJoy tried to undermine climate progress by purchasing 148,000 new gas-powered delivery vehicles earlier this year.

Our SEEC members, spearheaded by SEEC Co-Chair Rep. Gerry Connolly, quickly lept into action to fight back. They wrote letters to USPS, they called DeJoy out in the press, and they brought national attention to the issue. Thanks to their pressure, USPS committed to making 40% of its new delivery fleet electric – four times higher than what they originally planned!

The pressure is working, John, but we can’t let up for one second. We need to ensure that not only all USPS vehicles, but all federal vehicles are emissions free. Can you add your name to this petition to show your support for transitioning all federal vehicles to clean energy? [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
