In order to raise at least 500K by the general election ([link removed]) and do the outreach we need to do in order to win, we have to start now!
As many of you know, I am Ike McCorkle, retired Marine Corps Officer, Purple Heart Recipient and proud father of four. Happy Thursday my friends! I hope you are enjoying a happy holiday season! As you know we lost the election in November.
We received 174,000 CD4 Coloradan’s votes in 2020 and 129,000 CD4 Coloradan’s votes in 2022. As such, we are the largest minority in District Four by a large margin. I consider it my responsibility to make our will known in the office of our current Representative. We are forming a “Committee to Hold Ken Accountable. I will personally lobby for a position on Ken’s list of legislative advisors to Represent the will of the above listed 174,000 Coloradans in District 4.
We will be taking a number of actions to ensure our voices are heard by our current representative. We must do so in order to push Buck’s office in the right direction for all of CD4.
We are the voice of 37% of District 4. This committee will provide input based position memorandums informing Representative Buck of our positions on each bill floored in the 118th Congress.
We want to make it clear to the sitting representative that any use of rhetoric demonizing the political opposition is unacceptable. If we were a Union we would represent 37% of the workforce in CD4 and therefore deserve a direct line of communication with the Congressman, Representative Ken Buck.
We are farmers, ranchers, school teachers, firefighters, police officers, veterans, professionals, professors, parents, carpenters, Independants, Democrats, and Republicans. We are proud Coloradans and Americans…
As the 118th Congress gets underway our “representative will be voting on a number of important bills that will affect our communities, funding for infrastructure and industries that will affect quality of life and opportunity in the district.
We must ensure the Farm Bill is supported and that it includes sufficient funding for critical programs. Farmers cannot afford the spiking costs of fertilizer and a federal subsidy must be established to compensate farmers for the quadrupled price of fertilizers.
I will be contacting Ken’s office directly on behalf of our constituency and asking for our seat at the table in the legislative process and for a direct line of communication with the Congressman to let him know our position on bills in the 118th.
First and foremost I’m a single parent of four school aged kids. Second, I’m a proud moderate FDR Democrat, retired Marine and member of our community.
I’m not here to put up with BS from the corporate executives and or the interest groups that currently own Congress. I’m fighting for working class Coloradans and families, to lower costs, restore the nationwide right to an abortion, protect our environment, and create opportunity in District 4.
We have all seen the corruption and greed of a wall street owned government filled with corporate officials and powerful CEOs under the Trump administration. Trump’s trade wars increased federal agricultural expenditures from 11 to 32 billion in one year (2019)… and was combined with an unpaid for 2 trillion dollar tax scam for the rich.
They exploded the deficit and flooded the system with excess revenue at the same time. Inflation was built in by 2019 when the pandemic hit and the federal government had to even further increase the growth of revenue in the system ~ saving our small businesses and families but adding to the mounting inflationary hurricane that the Biden administration is currently getting under control.
Today’s GOP crashes the economy and explodes the deficit, every time they are in charge… We know the facts. Together, lets hold Buck’s feet to the fire and try and get him to get federal dollars allocated to projects in CD4.
