2022 Leckey Forum Welcomes Jenny Schuetz

AHS hosted the 2022 Leckey Forum on Wednesday, November 2 at the Church at Clarendon. Our keynote speaker was Jenny Schuetz, author of Fixer-Upper: How to Repair America's Broken Housing Systems. Jenny spoke about the importance of transit-oriented communities, homeownership and the racial wealth gap, Missing Middle Housing in Arlington, and much more.

Barcroft Apartments: Engagement Opportunities

Jair Lynch has submitted their Master Financing and Development Plan (MFDP) to the County Manager. Jair Lynch will continue engaging with Barcroft residents and the broader Arlington community as the County reviews the MFDP.
A community information session will be held on Tuesday, December 6th at 7 p.m.

County Launches Homeownership Study
|
|
In November, the County launched a Homeownership Study to better understand the needs and goals of the community around homeownership. The County also published a report, Analysis of Ownership Housing and Barriers to Homeownership in Arlington County.
The Housing Commission Homeownership subcommittee will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, December 13, at 12:00 p.m. Members of the public may join virtually.

AHS Welcomes Nicole Lewis as Communications Associate
|
|
Nicole Lewis joined AHS as its incoming part-time communications consultant on November 14. As a lifelong Arlingtonian, she is excited to bring her experience in social media campaigns and strategy as well as email marketing to highlight AHS' work in creating affordable, accessible housing that is inclusive and diverse. In her full-time job, she is the deputy communications director at a progressive economic think tank and enjoys traveling, cooking, and working out.
