Election security. Climate change. Separation of families at the border.

These are just three issues where the Republicans with a stranglehold on our Senate refuse to act. It's galling. Every day, our elections remain at dire risk of further interference, our polar ice caps melt at an unprecedented rate, and more and more children are cruelly stripped from their parents. And they do nothing.

We need serious change in D.C. We need Democrats back in control of the Senate. And in November 2020, we'll have our chance.

So today, I want to draw your attention to two key races in 2020, Maine and Texas, both on the verge of being flipped -- but only if we come together. This is where we can have a big impact as July comes to an end. I'll reach out to you in the coming days with more information on these races. For now, these are the basics:

Down in Texas, Republican Senator John Cornyn has consistently voted in lockstep with Trump and the GOP's far-right, hateful agenda. He's gleefully supported anti-choice legislation, and even advocated for a Constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman. He's not fit to represent the people of Texas. And, more than ever before, Texas is ready to go blue. Now's our chance to flip his seat.

Up in Maine, we're going after Republican Senator Susan Collins. When Collins voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court -- essentially guaranteeing his nomination -- she made it clear that she'll put party over people in moments where it counts. In 2020, we have the chance to elect Democrat Sara Gideon who will put the people of Maine first and actually protect the right to choose.
