The Allen’s Hummingbird is a tiny juggernaut in rust and emerald, visiting a narrow stretch of the Pacific Coast to breed every spring before heading back south again. But as the climate crisis worsens, it could lose up to ninety percent of its current breeding range before the end of the century. And they’re not alone.

It’s a code-red crisis—one that will get worse unless we take immediate action. We still need 61 new monthly donors to flock to today’s giving challenge. Thanks to a group of generous donors, you can help secure $10,000 more for birds. Will you be one of them? Please give a gift that birds can depend on before midnight tonight. ([link removed])

With more than a century of protecting birds under our wing, Audubon is pursuing cutting-edge research, preserving important habitats, and advocating for an economy that safeguards birds, stewards our natural resources, and reduces emissions. We protect resilient landscapes that are a critical defense against climate change—essential for birds and people. But this bird emergency won’t be solved overnight, so we’re asking you to act right away. We still need 61 more monthly donors to rise to today’s giving challenge. Please don’t wait: Make your monthly gift before midnight tonight, and together, we’ll secure a safer future for birds like the Allen’s Hummingbird. ([link removed])

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
