The Polaris Post

John,

Thank you for being part of our shared movement to end sex and labor trafficking.

Get the latest updates in the stories below! We also hope you'll forward The Polaris Post to others who share your values.

Together, we'll create a world where everyone is free to choose how and where they live and work.

Celebrate the Hotline with Us

For 15 years, Polaris has operated the U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline, helping victims and survivors connect to the services they need. This work has also built the largest data set on trafficking in North America and keeps the entire movement informed.

To celebrate the Trafficking Hotline this month, take a look back at 15 milestones to mark 15 years. And stay tuned for another opportunity to celebrate with us on the anniversary date of December 7!

Being a Good Neighbor

U.S. agriculture relies on guest workers with H-2A visas — a group at high risk for exploitation. Because most are Mexican nationals, Polaris has worked with Mexico's consulates in the U.S. since 2016 to spread the word about workers' rights and resources.

This year has taken our partnership to a new level. In 2022 alone, Polaris has reached about 3,500 Mexican citizens and more than 270 consular officers. And we recently signed a formal agreement with Mexico's Foreign Ministry to expand training opportunities.

Learn What Local Prevention Looks Like

Our Strategic Initiative on Sex Trafficking aims to reduce the crime in 25 U.S. cities. This includes strengthening local safety nets and ensuring cities have the right resources to keep vulnerable groups from being exploited.

In San Diego one of our first cities included we gathered survivor leaders, service providers, and other stakeholders. This coalition has prioritized needs in the LGBTQ+ community, especially for people of color. Read their report to see how they envision preventing trafficking in their city.
