Fox News: Twitter owner and CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday acknowledged that prior to his takeover, the “obvious reality” was that Twitter “has interfered in elections” through its content moderation policies. Musk’s explosive assertion came in response to comments made by Yoel Roth, Twitter’s former head of trust and safety, who indicated the social media platform was not safer under the Tesla CEO’s leadership. Roth was speaking at a Knight Foundation conference on Tuesday when he explained why he resigned from Twitter, accusing Musk of running the company like a dictator (Fox News). CNBC: The House passed legislation Wednesday that would force a tentative rail labor agreement and thwart a national strike. The bill now goes to the Senate. The House voted 290 to 137 — with 79 Republicans joining 211 Democrats — to pass the legislation, which approves new contracts providing railroad workers with 24% pay increases over five years from 2020 through 2024, immediate payouts averaging $11,000 upon ratification, and an extra paid day off. Eight Democrats and 129 Republicans voted against the legislation. In a separate 221 to 207 vote, the House also approved a resolution to provide seven days of paid sick leave in the contract instead of one, which is rail workers’ main disagreement with the current deal (CNBC).

CCP Pledges to “resolutely crack down” on Protestors as Protests Continue
Associated Press: China’s ruling Communist Party has vowed to “resolutely crack down on infiltration and sabotage activities by hostile forces,” following the largest street demonstrations in decades by citizens fed up with strict anti-virus restrictions. A massive show of force by the security services Wednesday sought to deter further protests. The statement from the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission released late Tuesday followed protests that broke out over the weekend in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and several other cities. While it did not directly address the protests, the statement was a reminder of the party’s determination to enforce its rule (Associated Press). New York Post: The anger that started with protests against China’s brutal “zero-COVID policies” — but widened to calls for President Xi Jinping to step down — has led to at least 43 protests in 22 cities, according to Australia’s ASPI think tank. San Francisco Approves Use of Robots to Assist Police in Killing, Incapacitating People
National Review: The San Francisco Board of Supervisors approved a policy on Tuesday officially allowing police to arm human-controlled robots with explosives to kill or incapacitate people in extreme circumstances.
