Alice was 20 years old and expecting twins in rural Rwanda when she began to feel pain and noticed she was bleeding. With expert care from the medical team at PIH-supported Kirehe district hospital, Alice delivered her twins four days apart—saving both their lives. 

Alice and her twins survived life-threatening pregnancy complications because they had access to the quality health care that is their human right—quality health care that wasn’t available to her community just a few years before, and currently, isn’t available to billions of people just like you and me worldwide.
