UPDATE: The U.S. House of Representatives’ floor vote on H.R. 8876 – the Jackie Walorski Maternal and Child Home Visiting Reauthorization Act – has been pushed back and will likely take place later this week. This provides you and your networks with additional time to
contact your Representatives in support of critical maternal, infant, and early childhood home visiting (MIECHV) funding.
Here are three ways to show your support for the bill:
-
Email your Representatives from Start Early’s action center.
-
Call your Representatives. To find their office’s phone number, visit the House of Representatives website and conduct a search using the Find Your Representative zip code search box in the upper right corner (enter your zip code and click ‘Go’).
-
Use this social media toolkit from the National Home Visiting Coalition to ask your networks to do the same ahead of the vote later this week.
A strong showing of bipartisan support during the upcoming House vote will help ensure that MIECHV-funded programs continue to serve the nearly 140,000 families and young children in the U.S who rely on them. Thank you for join Start Early, our partners and families across the country in contacting your Representatives to support this critical legislation. |
