A worker should be able to attend his mother’s funeral without fear of reprisal from their employer — but that’s exactly what’s happening.
Because of paid leave policies with long notice periods and late approvals, rail workers have no option for emergencies or sudden illnesses. Railroad companies, meanwhile, are making record profits and spending BILLIONS on stock buybacks — I mean come on!
FACT: For just a single penny of every $1 they make in profit — or 10% of the more than $2 billion they spent on buybacks just in the last quarter — rail workers could get the seven days of sick leave they’re asking for.
But because the railroad companies refuse, Congress is going to have to vote on a deal both parties will have to live by.
So here’s the deal: We’re fighting to include the sick leave rail workers need in any bill we vote on. If you agree then sign this petition so Washington knows where you stand! [[link removed]]

The fact that so many rail workers have to live like this in 2022 is deplorable. America can do better. Thanks for making your voice heard.
