Hey there—Just in case our email didn’t catch your attention yesterday (I know your inbox might have been active for Giving Tuesday 😉), I wanted to send a quick reminder to make your end-of-year donation to Fight for the Future.
These next few weeks of the “lame duck” Congress are likely to be a little wild. Lawmakers love to try to sneak bad policy into must-pass legislation. We’re tracking a number of pro-surveillance, anti-rights bills and are organizing to keep them from passing.1 This is also likely our last chance to pass two good Big Tech antitrust bills that could address the anticompetitive nonsense of companies like Google, Amazon, and Facebook.
I know a lot of people plan to make their charitable donations at the end of the year. If that includes you, I hope you’ll make your gift to Fight for the Future today and help fight these attacks on your rights and the Internet.
Together,
Caitlin at Fight for the Future
P.S. We’re also still offering everyone who gives $40 or more a “Digital Rights are Human Rights” hat to keep you warm this winter and to say thanks for your support! Donate now.

Hi John,
It’s Giving Tuesday, and we know you’ll get a lot of emails today, but please hear us out. We’re determined to rein in the monopoly abuses of Big Tech—and these next few weeks are really do-or-die for these efforts. The “lame duck” Congress is probably the last chance to pass TWO good antitrust bills (AICOA and OAMA) that would crack down on egregious self-dealing used by companies like Google, Amazon, and Apple.

In the summer, we ran a hard-hitting campaign to urge Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to finally move on these bills, including driving a billboard truck around his house and mobilizing a large coalition of small companies and civil society groups. Then we launched an open letter to the White House, and got them to say they plan to make this legislation a priority in the coming weeks. That’s a great sign, but when folks like Rep. Jim Jordan get control of the tech policy agenda in January, it’s highly unlikely any action on antitrust will be taken.
That’s why we need your support right here, right now on Giving Tuesday. Your support helps keep up the pressure and make moves on Big Tech antitrust in the next couple weeks. We need you.
