Friend –

I don't get the chance to write to you often, but I wanted to reach out about a special opportunity to maximize your impact. In case you haven't heard from me before, my name is Bob Kitchen. I lead the IRC's response to emergencies, and I can tell you honestly that this past year has been exceptionally challenging.

When disaster strikes — whether it's devastating floods in Pakistan or the sudden escalation of violence in Ukraine — the IRC's emergency teams don't waste a moment. We do everything we can to rush the most basic human needs, like safe shelter, food and water, medical aid, to where they can do the most good.

That response, and our ability to stay engaged with communities during the long rebuilding process, depends on the commitment and generosity of donors like you. That's why I'm so glad to announce that we have been able to extend our Giving Tuesday match deadline. You have until midnight tonight to make your contribution and have it tripled.

[MATCH EXPIRES AT 11:59PM]

As the leader of the IRC's emergency response worldwide, I've seen first-hand how your support turns into life saving humanitarian aid. As the conflict in Ukraine has continued throughout the last few months, we've been able to mobilize medical teams and deliver emergency supplies where they are needed most.

Now, refugees are facing a long and cold winter. Children need ongoing medical care, emotional support, and schools that can welcome them back as they recover from trauma. Families are relying on direct cash assistance as they look for work and rebuild their lives.

The IRC is committed to working with displaced people for as long as it takes to recover that stability. That's why I'm asking donors like you who have given to sustain our work in Ukraine to renew that support right now.

Please, make your last-minute 3X-matched gift right now, and your donation will be tripled by a special Giving Tuesday match.

In the past few months, we've seen climate–driven disasters, ongoing conflict, and economic collapse put millions of lives in danger. It's your support that ensures that the IRC can respond immediately to these emergencies, and to work in partnership with local communities for long-term recovery.

I don't know what the next year will bring. I don't know where the next crisis will emerge. But I know that we need to be ready — and I know that we will continue to depend on your kindness and generosity to power our response.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
