It takes courage to stand up for what's right, John.

Especially during a time when it's more convenient for politicians to stick with the status quo and party loyalty instead of what's right for the people.

For years, I've taken heat for saying what other Republicans would only admit privately... That Donald Trump and his rhetoric were detrimental to the Republican Party that I have fought for all my life.

We need to start working together, but we first need to move past the divisive politics of former President Trump.

I refuse to give up on the Republican Party and the American people.

It may seem difficult or even impossible under the current state of our nation's divided political system, but I truly believe there is a better path forward than the current divisiveness and dysfunction of our politics.

If we can accomplish this in deep-blue Maryland, we can accomplish it anywhere in the United States, but only if we have the courage to stand up against what our political parties demand and do what's right for the people.
