Hi John,

Have you seen the news? Rishi Sunak is facing a backlash over the ban on onshore wind in England! Top Conservatives likeBoris Johnson, Liz Truss and Michael Gove are calling for the ban to be scrapped - suddenly putting the Prime Minister under real pressure. [1]

But to get action, we’re going to need more than parliamentary rumblings. We’re going to need real public pressure. Can you sign the petition to show the Prime Minister the public want to bin the ban too?

Draconian laws have effectively banned new onshore wind farms in England since 2014. Blocking the cheapest, cleanest form of energy around was ridiculous from the start, but now we’re in the middle of an unprecedented energy crisis, it’s simply unforgivable. [2]

Our skyrocketing energy bills are because of soaring fossil fuel prices - so new onshore wind farms are desperately needed to turbocharge clean energy production and bring down prices. It is estimated that energy bills could have been £4.5 billion lower if the ban had never been introduced in the first place. We need to make up for lost time and scrap the ban. [3]

A backbench rebellion is growing and this is putting real pressure on Rishi Sunak to lift the restrictions. But to force the Prime Minister into action we’ll need to show him that the public care too.

So that's where you come in John. Can you tell the Prime Minister to scrap the ban on onshore wind?

It’s a national disgrace that onshore wind farms are banned while household energy bills have jumped by 54% and millions are choosing between heating or eating. The government should not be blocking clean, green energy at such a time of need. [4]

Rishi Sunak has the opportunity to put facts before ideology and scrap the ban on onshore wind. Parliamentary pressure on him is growing - the only thing missing is the public’s voice. Please tell the Prime Minister to choose common sense and bin the ban.: [link removed]

Thanks for all that you do,
