Members of Congress should work for the American people—not their stock
portfolio.

Sounds simple, but too many of my colleagues have used their position of
power to enrich themselves by trading stocks based on the information they
learn in Congress. It’s a problem in both parties, and I’ll keep fighting
to hold my fellow elected officials accountable.

Earlier this year I was proud to introduce the STOCK Act 2.0, which would
ban Members of Congress from trading stocks, cutting down on corruption
and helping restore faith in our elected leaders.

I’ve pushed for reform, and I’ve consistently said that to be effective,
any bill banning stock trading should:

* Ensure that blind trusts are truly blind
* Include Members’ spouses and children
* Have a real and serious penalty for breaking the law

Congress is about as popular as a cockroach, and it’s our job as elected
officials to restore people’s faith in our democracy. That starts with
cleaning up corruption.

Thanks for supporting my work.
