Greetings,
We are proud and excited to tell you that Quincy Institute’s president, Andrew Bacevich, is releasing his eleventh (!) and latest book, The Age of Illusions: How America Squandered its Cold War Victory, this week.
And in better news yet, Andrew is participating in a series of book talks in cities up and down the East Coast this month, including the kick-off tonight in New York City, which will feature an interview of Andrew by Harper's president and publisher, Rick MacArthur. We hope that you have an opportunity to attend one of these events in a city near you; the details for each follows at the bottom of this email.
For those of you who have been following QI’s work and are looking to gain a deeper understanding of the thinking that drives it, we urge you to read Andrew’s book. He takes us from that moment of seemingly ultimate U.S. victory in the Cold War to the age of Trump, telling an epic tale of folly and delusion. Writing with his usual eloquence and vast knowledge, he explains how, within a quarter of a century, the United States ended up with gaping inequality, permanent war, moral confusion, and an increasingly angry and alienated population, as well, of course, as the strangest president in American history.
You can also check out this interview that Andrew did today with the editors of ResponsibleStatecraft.com.
Read the book, check out the interview or attend an author event-- and you too can join the Quincy Institute conversation.
Best,
Jessica Rosenblum
