As the CEO of Special Olympics, I spend my days being inspired by athletes and families. Each story is different, but the message is always the same: “Special Olympics changed my life.”
That’s why I feel a tremendous amount of responsibility to reach the millions of people around the world with intellectual disabilities (ID) who have not yet stepped off the sidelines and onto the field. So many people haven’t had the chance to experience their VERY FIRST Special Olympics event … but we can change that.
I’m asking you to donate before midnight so your gift — now MATCHED, but only until midnight — can reach more athletes whose lives will be transformed through the power of sports >>

Today, as I’ve been watching Giving Tuesday donations come in, I’ve been thinking a lot about Tyrone Hicks Jr.
When Tyrone was born, he was told he would not be able to walk. He was told his life would be full of limitations. But he was determined not to let his life be restricted or minimized.
With the help of his father and coach, and Special Olympics, Tyrone accomplished what was once believed to be impossible: now he can walk, run, and score winning touchdowns. It’s a marvel to witness his strength and determination.
You can help make a profound impact on the lives of athletes like Tyrone. You can help him, and so many others, succeed at whatever they put their mind to.
Simply put: your 2X matched gift makes the impossible POSSIBLE.

We know that if we shrink the number of Special Olympic events, or decrease the amount of equipment we provide, athletes might miss out on a profound, life-changing experience. That’s why it is so important that we knock this Giving Tuesday out of the park — especially with 2023 poised to be a tough year for so many.
This is the most important ask I will make of you this year: Can we count on you at this pivotal moment to DOUBLE your donation and give athletes the opportunity to flourish on and off the field?
