John,
We are incredibly close to making major investments in health care, immigration, and expanding the Child Tax Credit this year. And we must act now, before the new Congress starts in January.
Here are some of the key components that we’re fighting for in the end-of-year legislation:
-
Permanent legislative protections for DACA recipients and their families.
-
Continuous and expanded Medicaid and CHIP coverage so that up to 14 million people won’t lose health coverage.
-
President Biden’s proposed $40 billion for the Department of Education.
-
Expansion of housing vouchers at least to an additional 200,000 households, allocation of over $10 billion to fund, preserve, and operate public housing, and provide $100 million for legal assistance to prevent evictions.
-
A renewal of the monthly Child Tax Credit payments that lifted millions of children out of poverty in 2021.
There are only four weeks left to include funding for critical programs in the must-pass bills. Pitch in $5 to keep the pressure on Congress to act!

Thanks to supporters like you, we have sent thousands of messages directly to members of Congress urging them to fully fund these critical programs. It’s because of you that we feel so optimistic about the inclusion of human needs priorities in the end-of-year legislation.
To finish the job, we need to keep the pressure on Congress, especially members who may be waffling due to a new majority taking over the House in January. These are critical investments in working people and families. Congress must act now!
Chip in $5 to keep the pressure on Congress to deliver for working families and immigrant communities.
