John,
Thirty-eight years ago, my life was forever changed when I met a young girl named Lori who received one of the very first heart transplants in the United States. Her transplant represented hope—for her future, for her family and for medical innovation.
We struck up a friendship, and after she passed away a few years later, I knew I had to do more to help give other sick kids that same feeling of hope. This Giving Tuesday, I'm asking you to join me in giving hope to the thousands of kids who visit Children's Hospital Los Angeles each year. Donate $25 or more to the Children’s Fund by midnight and my company, My Hand in Yours, will provide a Fleece-lined Winter Beanie to a patient—plus every dollar of your gift will be MATCHED, dollar for dollar.
From the beginning, I was awed by how every nurse, doctor and staff member at Children's Hospital Los Angeles leans into these tiny people of every race, ethnicity and religion, many from families of limited financial means—and does everything possible to help every one of them. To me, there's no greater good.
So many families come to Children's Hospital Los Angeles when all hope seems lost—their child is sick and one doctor after another has run out of ideas. With your support, this team of experts can do even more to find treatments and even cures.
That determination—to treat each child, to continue giving families hope—has made Children's Hospital Los Angeles one of the nation's best children's hospitals. Their world-renowned expertise and leadership in pediatric research have made all the difference for countless children. So today I'm asking you to support their life-changing work with a Giving Tuesday contribution to the Children's Fund before the midnight deadline.
Be the one who saves a life. Help Children's Hospital Los Angeles be the place that more families can turn to for hope with your gift of $10 or more today—every dollar will be multiplied 2X, up to $150,000, to help every child receive the care they deserve.
Thank you for helping make Children's Hospital Los Angeles such a special place for kids.
Sincerely,
