The 2020s are off to a roaring start. This will be the decade of the Green New Deal, and there's never been a more important time for a vibrant, bold, and courageous climate movement. At the same time, international conflicts loom. We need to build an anti-war movement ready to decarbonize. Climate solutions and demilitarization must go hand in hand with adaptation to the scary new normal of climate disasters—like the horrific fires we're seeing in Australia.

I'm hopeful. This past year, we saw unprecedented climate actions like the bold direct action to stop coal trains headed to the last active coal plant in New England. And this past Saturday, thousands turned out for anti-war marches around the country.
