John,
From the moment I first launched my campaign for Congress in 2016, I have never wavered in my belief in our grassroots movement. And I know what else I believe in: outsized spending and dark money should not buy our elections.
I don’t believe that our politics and policies should be bought, so I won’t be either. I have never accepted a single cent from corporate PACs or dark money groups, and I never will. And I know that it only makes our movement stronger, because people power wins.
Just look at the incredible cohort of progressives I was proud to endorse this cycle — Maxwell Frost, Greg Casar, Summer Lee, Delia Ramirez, and many more — who will join me in the ranks of the Progressive Caucus as we fight every day on your behalf.
I say this because I want to remind you that what we do now matters. In a couple short months, our new session of Congress will begin, with Republican control of the House, but also with more progressives than ever before.
This time of the year can be challenging for campaigns, when we take stock of our resources and make sure we reach all of our goals for the year — all while fundraising declines and many of us log off for the holidays.
I’m writing to you now because I wanted to personally make a request. My team has set a goal for us to reach $50,000 by midnight tomorrow, as we close the books on November 2022.
I am not here to guilt trip you. There is no imaginary donor who will triple match your donation, and the sky is not falling. Just you and me, and my sincere hope that you will recognize the importance of this moment.
At the end of the day, every election I’ve won, every fundraising goal I’ve hit, every milestone I’ve worked with our Progressive Caucus to achieve — it all comes down to you.
Thank you for your steadfast support.
Pramila
