Hey friend,
I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday. I spent some time reflecting on how thankful I am to be able to serve the people of Illinois’ 17th District in Congress. I’m reaching out today because my first end-of-month fundraising deadline as a Congressman-elect is coming up tomorrow. Here are a few reasons why it’s important:
- Our campaign had to spend nearly all of the money we raised to win this seat. Thanks to impressive grassroots contributions from supporters like you, we were able to prevail. Now is the time to start building a base of resources for our re-election campaign.
- The Republicans are going to keep trying to flip this seat. With all the money they funneled to my 2022 opponent’s campaign, dark money GOP super PACs are showing no signs of letting up. And now that they have the House majority, they’ll look to expand it in 2024 by flipping IL-17. We can’t let them do that.
- Early resources will be critical for us to fend off potential challengers. The earlier we build a strong foundation of grassroots fundraising, the better. I have no doubt that another far-right candidate will announce a run against me before too long, and a strong showing for this first deadline will be a great first step toward fending off whoever the Republicans throw at us.
With all of that in mind, will you chip in $5 or more before tomorrow’s deadline and help us meet our goal of raising $15,000 by the end of November?

Your support continues to power our movement. Thank you for all you do.
-Eric
