Please be one of the 179 monthly donors we’re still counting on
We're about halfway through Giving Tuesday—and we’re still looking for 179 bird lovers to start a monthly gift and help unlock an additional $25,000. For birds like the Rufous Hummingbird, who have already lost two-thirds of their populations in the last 50 years, the months and years ahead are critical. We must flock together for their protection.

The latest State of the Birds report from the U.S North American Bird Conservation Initiative delivered some unfortunate news. Bird populations are declining in nearly every habitat! For 70 beloved species, including the Rufous Hummingbird, the conclusion is even more devastating: These birds are at a high vulnerability for extinction—immediate action is needed to turn around declines.

We can’t waste a moment as we work for birds’ safest future. This Giving Tuesday, birds are counting on you. Will you rise to the challenge and be one of the 179 new donors we’re counting on to start a monthly gift today? Today is your last chance to help unlock an additional $25,000 for birds, thanks to a group of generous donors.

If nothing changes, these 70 “Tipping Point” species—who have already lost at least half of their populations in the last 50 years—are on track to lose another 50% in the coming decades. To prevent losses like these, Audubon is working to achieve common-sense solutions to climate change, including dramatically reducing carbon emissions, maintaining healthy forests, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices. And where there’s action, there’s hope: After 40 years of concerted wetland conservation efforts, waterbird populations as a whole remain healthy.

Tackling a threat as big as this will take all of us—but in the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we know the Audubon community can soar to birds’ defense. Please do your best for birds and start your generous monthly gift today to protect the birds you love. This additional $25,000 giving challenge ends at midnight tonight, so please don’t miss your chance to make an even greater impact.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
