If nothing changes, these 70 “Tipping Point” species—who have already lost at least half of their populations in the last 50 years—are on track to lose another 50% in the coming decades. To prevent losses like these, Audubon is working to achieve common-sense solutions to climate change, including dramatically reducing carbon emissions, maintaining healthy forests, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices. And where there’s action, there’s hope: After 40 years of concerted wetland conservation efforts, waterbird populations as a whole remain healthy.
Tackling a threat as big as this will take all of us—but in the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we know the Audubon community can soar to birds’ defense. Please do your best for birds and start your generous monthly gift today to protect the birds you love. This additional $25,000 giving challenge ends at midnight tonight, so please don’t miss your chance to make an even greater impact.
Sincerely,
National Audubon Society |
