Today is #GivingTuesday, a day when
people across the globe come together to demonstrate the power of
charitable giving to change lives and create new possibilities.
As I sat down to write this message, I was overwhelmed with gratitude as I
reflected on the incredible generosity of this community over the last
year.
From the war in Ukraine to Somalia on the brink of famine,
time and again, this community has come through
for people in moments of crisis.

In Somalia, millions of children are unable to go to school. CEO Tjada
D’Oyen McKenna (right) visits a settlement for displaced families, where
Mercy Corps is building classrooms and helping kids access education.
That’s why I know, on this important day of giving — as escalating
violence forces more people from their homes, as the global food crisis
pushes more people to the brink of famine, and as millions more people all
over the world live determined to cope, adapt, and thrive through crises
being driven by conflict and climate change — we can count on
this community again.
A group of generous donors has already given $150,000 to our Matching Gift
Challeng Fund to inspire our community to make a matching gift. [ [link removed] ]Today
I’m asking you to join in this wave of support for families now by
making your first, matching gift
before midnight tonight.

Challenges of this magnitude won’t be solved tomorrow. It will take years for communities to
recover and rebuild. But your support today will make a real difference
for people on their path to a brighter future.
[ [link removed] ]Please, make your #GivingTuesday contribution to our Matching Gift
Challenge before midnight tonight.
Sincerely,
