Dear Friend,

Last week, our client Ishalaa invited you to join our Giving Tuesday campaign and support LGBTQ refugees like her—and now the big day has finally arrived!

Ishalaa shared her personal story about how Immigration Equality fought her deportation to Mexico—where she was persecuted for being trans—and helped her win asylum. She said, “They protected me from danger and opened the doors for me to rebuild my life in the U.S.”

Friend—can we count on your support this Giving Tuesday so Immigration Equality can continue to open the doors to safety for LGBTQ refugees like Ishalaa? A generous donor has agreed to match your gift DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR up to $50,000—doubling your impact today.

Our clients entrust us with their stories—recounting harrowing experiences they survived in their countries of origin. Many face rejection and violence from their own families, while others live under the threat of imprisonment or the death penalty for being LGBTQ.

The LGBTQ refugees we serve come from over 80 countries around the world, but I believe their stories are tied together with single word: bravery. They leave everything behind to face the unknown for a chance to live as their authentic selves, and with bravery and determination, they start rebuilding their lives in the U.S.

Their bravery deserves our support, Friend. This Giving Tuesday, will you give in honor of the resilience of LGBTQ refugees—and support our work helping them secure asylum? If you give before midnight tonight, your gift will be DOUBLED.
