The feeling of witnessing someone who’s been wrongly incarcerated for years finally walk free and reunite with their loved ones is like no other. It’s what drives us to pursue this challenging work. Yet, for every innocent client we help exonerate, we know there are countless people who unjustly remain behind bars.

So on this Giving Tuesday, first, we want to take a moment to thank you for all of the time, energy, and support that you’ve given to the Innocence Project over the years. It’s deeply appreciated.

We also must ask for your help because we’re not done fighting to transform the system, and the Innocence Project needs your generous support to keep doing everything we can to pursue justice for our clients.

When we started the Innocence Project 30 years ago, we never dreamed it would grow into what it is today. We’ve worked to free more than 240 innocent people and helped pass more than 200 state and federal laws that prevent wrongful convictions from occurring, and are redefining the criminal legal system.

The past 30 years have been truly incredible. Serving our clients is a great privilege. But there are so many more people who still need our help.
