Help More Students Learn About Our Country's Founding Documents and Ideas
“Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction".

These famous words are from
Ronald Reagan's Inaugural Address as Governor of California. ([link removed]) In the speech, then Governor Reagan goes on to say "With all the profound wording of our federal Constitution, probably the most meaningful words are the first three, "We, the People."

As a self-governing nation, we're reminded that above all of our personal and political convictions, we are united in our shared responsibility to uphold our fragile republic and the freedoms that we all cherish.

So, is the next generation of Americans prepared to be the people and advance the ideas and principles that make us free?

We asked this question to students from our partner programs at Clemson University, Rose State College, Lee University, and Xavier University. Their answers in the video above will inspire you.

At the Jack Miller Center, our mission is to inspire Americans from K-12 through college to advance the American political tradition through a deep understanding of our country's founding principles and history.

Since our founding in 2004, we have engaged over 1.4 million undergraduate students across the country with the ideas and traditions of the American founding.

Now, we are leveraging our network of over 1,000 history and political science professors to provide K-12 social studies teachers with the knowledge and content they seek so that they can give their students the best civic education.

In Florida alone, these middle and high school teachers have reached over 147,000 students, and nationwide, many more. We are going to grow our teacher education program—state by state— in the next few years.

Please, join us in the effort. Your donation, large or small, will be a crucial investment in the future of our country. This will be one of the most important pieces of the inheritance you leave your children, your grandchildren, and their children.

About the Jack Miller Center
The Jack Miller Center is a nationwide network of political scholars, historians, and civics teachers who seek to pass along the meaning of America to the next generation.

We have three strategies to pursue this mission:
1. build and sustain a community of scholars in the fields of American political thought and history;
2. restore the teaching of American citizenship in K-12 schools that centers on the country’s history, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and other foundational texts in the American tradition; and
3. partner with organizations and philanthropists to advance civic education that is grounded in America’s founding principles and history.

We are building a movement of educators and citizens to advance the principles of equality, liberty, and opportunity that lie at the heart of the American political tradition.
