John,
Together, we are working toward freedom, justice, liberation, and affirming our humanity -- and we do so by tackling the systemic racism that thrives in health and health care, housing, socio-economics, climate change, education, and so much more.
We know that one organization on its own cannot make the change we wish to see in the world. That's why for this year's Giving Tuesday, we're proudly uplifting
Texas Jail Project. This is an organization that plays a crucial role in our work toward Black liberation through their work in the carceral space –
a space that too many Black families have been impacted by.
Every day, but especially today, we hope that you'll join us in
supporting Texas Jail Project. They are a reminder that we keep us safe, and that we are the ones who fight for us.

directly to the Texas Jail Project.
We eradicate systems of white supremacy by tackling it in all spaces -- whether that be policing and public safety, environmental justice, health care, mental health, and more. Texas Jail Project is doing this in so many ways.
Not only does Texas Jail Project empower incarcerated people through storytelling, participatory defense, and pretrial advocacy, but they also distribute transformative, unrestricted direct aid to families impacted by incarceration in Texas.
Pretrial incarceration is expensive. Jail phone calls cost as much as $1/minute in some counties. Attorneys can cost thousands. And families desperate to be reunited are pressured into predatory payment plans with bail bondsmen. These new financial burdens usually sit atop the loved one's lost job and income.
Texas Jail Project's direct aid program is radically simple: they give people money.
The clock is ticking, John! Giving Tuesday only lasts a few more hours. Pitch in now before midnight tonight and help us meet our goal of raising $20,000 for this organization!
