Our virtual gala draws to a close today with our staff “ask us things” livestream Tonight at 7 pm ET! This #GivingTuesday, our team will share about the work your support has made possible this year and answer your questions about the past year and future plans in 2023. Giving Tuesday is a time for people to give to their causes and communities. Because of your support last Giving Tuesday and all year long, ASAN has been able to continue working towards the full inclusion of autistic people through our programs, our publications, and our policy advocacy.

Because of your support this year, we have been able to:

  • Hold the line against threats to reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and the wellbeing of immunocompromised people in the pandemic
  • Create accessible toolkits exploring many topics including racial disparities in community living, LGBTQ+ identities and experiences, COVID, and reproductive rights and justice
  • Hold a 3-day Spanish translation summit, to have paid reviewers look over our translation of Welcome to the Autistic Community
  • Host webinars offering education around voting rights, reproductive justice, and COVID-19
  • Push researchers to include autistic people in research on autism and genetic research in order to better focus on the needs of autistic communities.

Everyone can have an impact on Giving Tuesday! Join us to support advocacy by autistic people for autistic people. Are you with us?

Another great way to support us today is with a Facebook fundraiser! They’re easy to set up and share with your friends, and you don’t have to contribute yourself if you’re not able to. After that, tweet us at @autselfadvocacy so we can spread the word!

We also have an assortment of holiday merch in our shop. With holiday cards, warm sweaters, and all sorts of gifts, we’ve got something for everyone on your list! It’s a great way to support us while showing your autistic pride.

By joining us for Giving Tuesday, you’re helping us get ready for the year ahead, as we continue to fight for a world in which all people with disabilities are included, valued, and empowered to make our own decisions. Your support enables us to make sure all people with disabilities have the tools we need to make our voices heard.

With gratitude,
The Team at ASAN
