Dear friends,

Since our loved ones were killed in the 2018 Parkland school massacre, we’ve been committed to advocating for safer schools so that no one will have to experience the grief and loss that we’ve endured. We’re proud to approach our work in a uniquely inclusive, nonpartisan and holistic way to deliver real results.

This Giving Tuesday, will you send in a contribution to help us reach our $10,000 goal so we can keep this work going in 2023? Every dollar goes towards keeping children and staff safe at school. [[link removed]]

Violence in our schools is not a Democrat problem or a Republican problem – it is an American problem. We must never become desensitized to the horrific tragedies that strike all too often throughout our nation, which is why we have traveled around the country meeting with legislators at all governmental levels and in both parties to make tangible progress:

We worked closely with the Departments of Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Justice, and Education to help build SchoolSafety.gov , which helps connect America’s schools to safety resources. In 2020 the Trump administration coordinated this effort, and we were honored to meet with him for the unveiling of the program.

Earlier this year President Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act , which included the Luke and Alex School Safety Act to codify the Federal School Safety Clearinghouse and these joint departmental efforts.

Stand with Parkland Board Members Phil and April Schentrup were honored to speak with President Biden when he visited Seattle earlier this year. “We shared a little about our daughter Carmen and our continued advocacy efforts to make America’s schools safe,” said Phil.[link removed] [[link removed]]

This summer, we met with Education Secretary Miguel Cardona to discuss school safety for the 2022-2023 school year, including the passage and implementation of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act which we were proud to help usher through the legislative process.

Friend, none of this work would have been possible without your support. We take our grief and stories of unimaginable loss and turn that into action to help your family avoid a similar fate. That’s why we’re asking for your contribution to help make a difference in the lives of students, teachers, and families around the country.
