Dear John,
Let’s face it—immigration reform at the federal level often moves at a glacial pace. So, how can we effect change faster?
Create change at the state and local level.
We were proud to join efforts to pass Proposition 308, which will allow Dreamers in Arizona access to in-state college tuition. We worked with local groups for over a year to produce research to ensure that everyone, regardless of immigration status, has an opportunity to pursue higher education.
This advocacy is part of our larger effort to support policymakers, businesses, and civic leaders that recognize the importance of immigrant and refugee integration in their local communities. Make a gift today to help us reach more communities.
As part of our efforts to pass Proposition 308, we:
- Provided economic research to Arizona educators, policymakers, and advocates quantifying the benefits of ensuring all high school graduates had equal access to higher education.
- Presented our research to multiple stakeholders, including the Yes on 308 campaign, which used it for their economic messaging and to prepare their endorsers.
- Co-hosted a briefing about the benefits of Proposition 308 along with higher education leaders and state policymakers.
- Helped an aspiring nurse from Tucson, Arizona publish an op-ed on why passing Proposition 308 would be lifechanging for her.
- Had our research cited in multiple publications, including Bloomberg Law, Arizona Republic, NBC News, The Hill, and NPR’s Arizona Public Media.
We are running similar efforts across the country, and we need your help to push our grassroots work forward into even more communities.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Robbins
