This #GivingTuesday Support The Abolitionist
& CR's Movement Resources: CR's 2022 Year-end kickoff

Dear Friends, Comrades & Community,

Want to give your loved ones holiday gifts that make an impact in the world? Donate to Critical Resistance (CR) this holiday season and give your loved ones the gift that keeps on giving: abolition

In order to build a strong international movement to abolish the prison industrial complex (PIC), we need a dynamic leftist ecosystem of different formations and fronts of resistance. Every year, CR creates organizing resources to strengthen and fuel movements for liberation and to make PIC abolition common sense. These movement building resources include tips, guides, best practices, and strategies for organizing and campaign work against the PIC. We aim to distribute these resources far and wide to be applied in various local contexts internationally, and to cross-share analysis and reflection for landscape assessment to better shift our organizing terrains.

5 Ways to Support CR & PIC Abolition this Holiday Season:

#1.) Subscribe yourself or a loved one to CR’s newspaper The Abolitionist! You can sign up for a paid subscription for yourself or another person. If you know someone who is locked up in a jail, detention center or prison and they would like to receive the paper, you can sign them up for a free subscription here.

#2.) Check out CR’s new website and online resource hubEarlier this year, CR launched a new website. While it is still a work in progress, our new website is designed to offer up-to-date movement and organizing news and analysis, as well as connect people to abolitionist resources of all kinds and to learn about CR’s history, legacy, and current work.

#3.) Read and circulate another edition of CR’s “reformist reforms” poster series - “Policing & Militarism on Campus: Reformist Reforms vs Abolitionist Steps” - check out other organizing resources for abolition created by and for educators here, and order your copy of Lessons In Liberation: An Abolitionist Toolkit for Educators.

#4.) Get your “So Is This Actually an Abolitionist Proposal or Strategy?” Binder! CR compiled this collection of resources with Interrupting Criminalization and Project Nia to aid in evaluation and reflection for PIC abolitionists. Assembled for the Summer 2022 Allied Media Conference, this collection is full of excerpts from resources frequently used as jumping-off points when thinking strategically about abolitionist organizing. Download from CR's website here and use widely and boldly!

#5.) Buy CR merch and wear our gear: bundle up this winter in a CR sweatshirt or select your holiday reading through our online store! We have plenty of hoodies, crewnecks, shirts, and totes for purchase. You can treat yourself  or gift it to a loved one. Buying CR merch is a great way to sustain CR's organizing and wear your abolitionist heart on your sleeve!

Thank you for sharing your resources and keeping CR strong!

In struggle and solidarity,

-Critical Resistance
