John,
On Giving Tuesday, I hope you will consider making a generous gift to the National Immigration Forum today.
Here are some ways your gift today helps make a difference:
1. Supports our Afghan allies and neighbors in the U.S. Generous
supporters like you can help our push to pass the Afghan Adjustment Act — a bill that would allow Afghan evacuees to obtain permanent residence in the U.S., protecting them and ensuring that they are not returned to a hostile and dangerous environment in Afghanistan. We’re hard at work, mobilizing constituents to call upon Congress to get this bill passed.
2. Supports Dreamers. Congressional inactivity and recent court decisions undermining the legality of DACA have placed nearly 600,000 individuals — and their employers and schools — in limbo. Hundreds of thousands more are ineligible for DACA or unable to have their applications processed because of court rulings. We’re continuing to push Congress to enact a permanent solution for Dreamers.
3. Supports Refugees. Welcoming refugees fleeing unstable circumstances in their home countries will reinforce U.S. leadership in the global
community and honor the investment our allies have made in partnering with the U.S. We are continuing to push the Biden administration to raise the refugee cap and welcome refugees.
I hope you will take the opportunity to support the Forum and our efforts to build constructive solutions on immigration.
If you made an early gift, thank you! Now, share your support with your friends and family on social media and ask them to join you in these efforts. If you haven’t yet donated, there’s still time to make a gift and support our work.
Will you make your first gift today to support our advocacy efforts and
help us reach our $10,000 goal this global day of giving? Thank you for your support,
Jennie Murray President and CEO National Immigration Forum
