We want to share a mind-blowing story about a Pornhub model who reached out to us. (trigger warning)
Her name is Dani and and she found out about us after Pornhub blamed us for having to remove 10 million of their videos, which may have featured victims of rape, trafficking, and child sexual abuse.
After she learned about Exodus Cry and the #Traffickinghub campaign, she took all of her content off of Pornhub and actually uploaded our animated video, exposing Pornhub, to their site.
Within ten minutes, Pornhub had deleted the video and locked her account.
Dani told us how she wound up on the site. It turns out, as a vulnerable teenager, she was trafficked by her “boyfriend,” raped by him and his friends, and the videos of these assaults were uploaded to porn tube sites like Pornhub.
After years of this horror, she finally escaped him, but was in such a fragile and desperate state that she thought posting her own content on Pornhub could help her cover basic living expenses.
The #Traffickinghub campaign gave her the courage to quit Pornhub and she’s now studying for a degree in social work so she can help save others from what she endured.
We’ve recently begun covering trauma therapy for Dani, and she texted us saying:
“Just wanted to let you know that today I had my first therapy session. It was really amazing and the woman was so kind and caring. I am so grateful to be given the chance to work with her.”
