#GivingTuesday is today! Make an impact today by helping fund the future where mass incarceration and deportation are things of the past.
Hi John,
Grassroots Leadership recently took part in a series of actions at our nation's capital to call on the Biden Administration to stand against Operation Lone Star. We cannot do this work alone and will need lots of support moving forward if we’re going to end Operation Lone Star once and for all.
Can we count on you to support our efforts this Giving Tuesday by pitching in $10?

Last week, we participated in a press conference outside the Customs and Border Patrol offices in Washington DC with organizations like the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, Human Rights Watch, Detention Watch Network, and more. We also flew with Elvin and Roberto out to Washington DC, two men directly impacted by Operation Lone Star, to speak face to face with representatives of Congress and demand they take action to end Operation Lone Star. You can find testimony from Elvin Molina, who was formerly detained as a target of Operation Lone Star, here [[link removed]] .

Earlier this fall, we organized a series of human rights delegations to the border to witness Operation Lone Star in practice with our own eyes. Over 50 individual community members and a collective of 27 organizations joined us. With the re-election of Governor Abbott, we know that the Texas legislature will seek to fund OLS with even more Texan taxpayer funds at the 2023 Texas legislative session. This is in addition to the $4 billion already wasted since 2021.
We know we have a long road ahead of us to protect migrant rights as well as the safety and dignity of our collective communities, but I have hope that we will make Texas a safe place for us, because as we remind ourselves: there has been, is, and always will be resistance in Texas.
If you believe in the work we do, and you want to help end Operation Lone Star, make your gift this Giving Tuesday.
In solidarity,
