Dear Community Partner,

Join us on Tuesday, Dec. 6, when Consumer Action will host a free webinar on the benefits of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).

Almost a year since the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) launched the Affordable Connectivity Program, offering a long-term internet discount to low-income households, the nonprofit EducationSuperHighway reports that millions of eligible households are not taking advantage of the savings. The reason: Consumers are unaware of the program's existence, especially in low-income and communities of color, where up to 75% of eligible households don't know they might qualify for federal broadband benefits.

In addition to covering ACP benefits, including enhanced tribal benefits, this webinar will provide an update on the FCC Outreach Grant Program (offering funding support to community partners) and the FCC Your Home, Your Internet Pilot Program, designed to increase ACP awareness among recipients of federal housing assistance, including recipients of the Housing Choice Voucher and Project-Based Rental Assistance programs.

The webinar will feature presentations by E.J. John, policy and research analyst with the American Indian Policy Institute at Arizona State University, and Alma Hughes, consumer education and outreach specialist at the Federal Communications Commission, and will cover:

ACP benefits and the enhanced tribal benefit
ACP eligibility and how to apply
The difference between ACP and Lifeline—and if you can stack the benefits
What consumer protections are offered by the ACP, and how to file a complaint
Resources and tool kits for consumers
Updates on the FCC Outreach Grant and Your Home, Your Internet Pilot Programs

AFC professionals can earn 1.5 CEUs for participation in this free, 90-minute webinar.
