Dear Friend,
We celebrated when President Biden revoked the Muslim and African Bans on his first day in office but this fight for justice is far from over. Right now, tens of thousands of people STILL remain separated from their families because of the Bans and we need your help.
ADD YOUR VOICE: Tell President Biden to take needed action to reunite families separated by the Muslim and African Bans [[link removed]]
For years, Muslim Advocates has been fighting in court to win justice for Muslim and African Ban victims who were unjustly denied waivers from the Bans. Back in August, we won a federal court ruling [[link removed]] requiring the Biden administration to create a process to have rejected or stalled visa applications reconsidered without the applicants having to start from scratch.
“Rescinding the Muslim Ban was just step one. The judge’s ruling now requires the Biden administration to finish what it started and create a real pathway to reuniting the thousands of families who were illegally and cruelly separated by the Ban,” Muslim Advocates Staff Attorney Chris Godshall-Bennett said at the time.
However, the administration has yet to start that process. That’s why we have joined a coalition of civil rights organizations calling on President Biden to stop enforcing Donald Trump’s lingering Muslim and African Ban policies and start a fair and just process for visa reconsideration that allows families to finally reunite. Now, we need you to join that coalition too!
ADD YOUR NAME: Support reuniting families, support justice for victims and end the hateful legacy of the Muslim and African Bans [[link removed]]
