You’re probably getting a lot of requests for help this Giving Tuesday – but I wanted to make sure you saw our note about how Common Cause is putting in the necessary work to protect our democracy.
Common Cause is fighting for a system that is accountable to you. This means defending against attacks on our right to vote, limiting Big Money's influence on our politics, stopping disinformation, and doing whatever else it takes to make sure this democracy represents the people.
Your gift to us will have a real, measurable impact on thousands of people.
So today, I’m asking for your support toward Common Cause’s mission to ensure we all have a voice. I hope we can count on your support!

Though this year’s election came with its highs and lows, one message rang loud and clear this November: We The People are committed to democracy – and we’re willing to put in the work to defend it.
Overwhelmingly, voters rejected the noise, chaos, and intimidation meant to undermine our trust in our democracy – and overcame obstacles like gerrymandering and new anti-voter laws to turn out in record numbers.
And here at Common Cause, we’ve been working around-the-clock to defend our democracy thanks to your action and support.
I’d like to take a moment to celebrate one of our biggest wins this year. Thousands of members like you volunteered your time and invested in Common Cause – allowing us to run our largest midterm Election Protection program – training and placing thousands of nonpartisan volunteers in-person at polling locations across states and online to help monitor social media disinformation.
Now, we’re gearing up for the next big fights ahead:
- With the nation's eyes on Georgia for their runoff election, we're mobilizing an even bigger Election Protection program in the state – ensuring voters decide this election, not special interests or election deniers.

We're headed to the U.S. Supreme Court on December 7th for oral arguments in Moore v. Harper [1] to protect voters’ rights and our democracy’s checks and balances.
- We’re committed to passing our bold pro-voter agenda next year, and shutting down any attempts to undermine our democracy.
With your continued support, we’ll keep fighting for a democracy that works for all of us. And that’s because change doesn’t just take place on Election Day. Democracy starts with people like you and me taking an active role in our communities and working on the issues that affect us and our families.
