As the current battle in the U.S. Senate regarding the (Dis)Respect for Marriage Act illustrates, Christians must pray for the Holy Spirit to stir the hearts of believers in this nation. We must steward the freedoms God has given to us in a God-honoring manner which will extend and preserve these fundamental freedoms for others.
With so many in Congress pushing for policies that undermine marriage and threaten religious liberty, it can be tempting for some believers to walk away and ignore the evil that this rejection of truth will bring, but we can't. God has instructed us to stand firm on and for His truth.
As we recently read in our Stand on the Word Bible reading plan, in 2 Kings 19 when Judah was surrounded and the end appeared to be near and they were just about to surrender and face the brutality of the Assyrians, they prayed and God divinely intervened and His people were spared.
We must do all that we can and then look to God to do what only He can do.
We saw this play out in June with the overturning of Roe v. Wade--truly a watershed moment in our nation's history.
After almost half a century, the U.S. Supreme Court finally yielded to the actual words of the U.S. Constitution, allowing states and Congress to once again pass laws protecting the lives of unborn children.
At FRC, we are grateful that the tyranny of Roe v. Wade has ended, while we mourn the millions of lives lost since 1973. Now we must work to heal and rebuild a culture of life in America.

The recent midterm elections prove there is plenty of work we must do to educate Americans on the value of every human life, and our responsibility to protect unborn babies. Five states voted unfavorably on abortion ballot referendums, including adding amendments in Vermont, Michigan, and California that will add a "right" to abortion up until birth into those state constitutions.
Pro-life Americans in every state must do everything possible to protect lives in the womb.
