Last week, we celebrated the first official World Day for the Prevention of, and Healing from Child Sexual Abuse, Exploitation and Violence on November 18th. The Enough Abuse Campaign was a founding partner of the Global Collaborative that helped establish this day, which was officially announced by the United Nations earlier this month.
To date, in Massachusetts, 11 school districts including 114 schools, as well as several private schools have adopted Enough! Preventing Child Sexual Abuse in My School, and over 15,000 school staff have been educated through our course. This year, we launched our SAFETY S.T.A.R.S. program to help schools and youth organization improve their abuse prevention policies, and we launched the bimonthly States Policy Exchange, a national networking group of advocates from different states pushing for child sexual abuse prevention legislation. MassKids is collaborating with Prevent Child Abuse America and the National Conference of State Legislatures on a CDC-funded research initiative to evaluate the impact of state child sexual abuse prevention laws across the country.
MassKids is a small organization making a big difference. Every dollar raised is spent strategically to take our prevention programs and policies to more communities. Join us in the movement to ensure every child lives a life free from abuse by choosing MassKids and our Enough Abuse Campaign as your charity of choice on Giving Tuesday. Your donation will result in tangible outcomes and help us reach our goals faster and for more children.
