Dear friend,

This Thanksgiving season, I am so thankful for my freedom. I am so thankful to be standing in my home, as opposed to in a unit being shaken down with the same routine day in and day out, even on the holidays.

It's a huge blessing to be able to be home this season. I want more people to have the moment I had this year when I was released. Will you make a gift to FAMM to help us fight for second chances so that we bring more people home for Thanksgiving and Christmas next year? [link removed] [[link removed]]

I got to watch my six grandchildren express their excitement about the holiday season for the first time. I got to be around my wife, my mom, my siblings, and my other extended family. It's been so long since we've all been together for a holiday meal like this. I'll never take it for granted. I don't know if I can put it in words how grateful and blessed I am to have been home for Thanksgiving this year.

There are so many other people who don't get to experience this. FAMM is fighting to help bring them home to their families by passing the EQUAL Act. FAMM has been at the forefront of the fight against unfair mandatory sentencing for more than 30 years, and passage of the EQUAL Act will be a continuation of that work. However, their efforts cannot succeed without faithful friends like you.

It might seem like a little thing, but I couldn't wait to eat my mom's turkey, home-cooked the way I grew up eating it. I want more people like me to be able to enjoy Thanksgiving with their families and their own traditions next year, to be able to eat their mom's turkey and enjoy the foods they grew up eating, instead of spending the day in prison without their loved ones.
