Your doubled donation makes a real difference to voters who need ID assistance. Just look at some of the people we’ve helped this year: -
Eric in North Carolina had lost his job and his housing due to an expired ID. For an entire year, Pam at VoteRiders worked with Eric to obtain his birth certificate and replace his social security card, allowing him to apply for a North Carolina ID.
-
Jovonte in Florida graduated high school in June, but the 18-year-old couldn’t get a job until he had secured an ID. Eli at VoteRiders helped Jovonte request a new copy of his birth certificate, made him a DMV appointment, and then arranged round-trip transportation so that he could obtain his driver’s permit — all free of charge, of course. Jovonte plans to use his new ID not just to find a job, but to travel and of course, to vote!
-
When Stephen and Mary Beth moved from Alabama to Arizona in 2020, they were unable to vote in the presidential election, due to having an out-of-state ID. Being visually impaired, they had trouble accessing the DMV website to understand what they needed to do to update their ID. Cassandra at VoteRiders worked with them to get the documents they needed, then arranged transportation for both of them and their service animals to the DMV. Once they obtained their IDs, they also registered to vote!
With your generous #GivingTuesday donation, we can continue to help people like Eric, Jovonte, Stephen, and Mary Beth obtain their IDs to vote and secure housing, employment, government services, and so much more!
Thanks to Corky and Mike, all donations today will be DOUBLED until midnight or until we reach our goal of raising $10,000 for free ID assistance and education. |
