As part of The Big Give Christmas Challenge, we have secured matched-funds

IT'S TIME TO TALK

For too long, our growing numbers have been largely ignored as a
contributor to our environmental crises. This is despite evidence of the
multiplying effect we all have: each of our individual needs for space to
live, to grow food, our use of natural resources like water, and our carbon
footprints - which we know aren't equal and those least to blame suffer
most when it comes to climate change.

BUT IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT HOW, IF WE HARNESS THE POWER OF CHOICE AND
REDUCE THE UNMET NEED FOR CONTRACEPTION GLOBALLY, WE CAN MAKE A BETTER
FUTURE FOR EVERYONE.

Population Matters has already started the conversation and we encourage
everyone to join us. It's essential we all talk: about the choice to be
childfree or have a smaller family; about the big carbon footprints some of
us have that can destroy the homes and lives of others; about the women who
want an education but are unable to access or use contraceptives so cannot
go to school; about the wildlife and habitats disappearing because of our
relentless growth.

It's a big and complicated conversation. But we can't keep sweeping
population growth under the carpet. With more than 8 billion humans on our
one planet, it's time to talk - and keep talking - until more of us change
and more of us can act.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s largest match funding
campaign. Last year, thanks to generous supporters like you, the campaign
raised over £24 million for 928 charities. This year, donations will be
matched pound for pound for 7 days*, until 12 noon GMT on Tuesday 6
December.
