If you’ve been putting off registering while you get through the holidays, now is the time! There are just a few days left to reserve your spot at this annual gathering of climate activists in your region — it’s a great opportunity to learn what you can do in 2020 to support and advance climate action. Help make this the year when our nation takes a giant leap toward a more livable future!

Take advantage of our group rates at the Westin Hotel — $89/night. The hotel is adjacent to the conference center and just a mile from Wilmington’s train station. There’s also abundant free parking at the complex, located just off of I-95.

For those of you who are feeling the loss of our founder, Marshall Saunders, please consider attending a memorial gathering on Friday, January 17, from 7–8:30 pm at the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew, 719 Shipley Street, in downtown Wilmington. The church is just 1.3 miles from the conference center and hotel. We will share some food and remembrances of Marshall before continuing the work he started. (The group rate at the hotel is good for Friday night as well.)

Here’s what else you can expect from the conference:
  • Keynote address from Delaware’s Senator Chris Coons, a leading climate champion in the U.S. Senate. He was the Senate co-sponsor of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act in the 115th Congress and is a co-founder of the bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus during the 116th Congress.
  • CCL’s Climate Advocate Training Workshop, the gold standard in learning how to advocate for climate action with your elected officials.

  • Breakout workshops on the interplay of climate and such topics as mental health, national security, labor, and agriculture and strategy sessions that focus on our region’s major watersheds and conveying climate impacts on these areas to our representatives.

  • “Speed dating” session where you can learn best practices in climate outreach from experienced CCL volunteers who share what has worked for them.

  • The opportunity to hear from CCL vice presidents Madeleine Para and Daniel Richter about the path forward in 2020, both for our bill, the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, and the organization.

  • A chance to express yourself artistically and be inspired by others who are creating works of art that convey what we stand to lose, the urgency of change, and a vision for a better world.
