Happy New Year, John!

We hope you had a joyous holiday season and New Year. We’re kicking off 2020 by continuing our work to increase abortion access and advance reproductive justice through bold direct action!

As we begin this new year, we want to hear from you! Have a suggestion for an action? Is there something you want to learn? Let us know here!

Check out what’s happening this month on the ground:

Join us for our January Positive Presence in honor of the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States in 1973. We'll stand outside the Falls Church Healthcare Center, where the clinic staff and escorts can see us, and be a supportive, positive presence to counter the negativity of anti-choice protesters.

Carpool from the East Falls Church Metro (Orange/Silver), or within Northern Virginia is available.

Exposing anti-abortion fake clinics is an act of community care and love, so what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than a direct action?

Everyone deserves the right to receive medically accurate information about their pregnancy so they can make informed decisions about their health. Yet throughout the DMV, fake clinics work to dissuade pregnant people from seeking abortions by spreading misinformation. There are at more than 2,500 of these fake clinics in the United States (check out our Fake Clinic Database here), and many receive state and federal funding. Often, these clinics go unchecked, and continue to promote anti-abortion ideology in our communities.

It's on us to demand accountability and expose fake clinics in our community. We plan on protesting outside of a fake clinic and flyering with information about where people can access real abortion care and parenting resources.

Do you love direct action? Make sure you’re on the list of activists we contact directly about opportunities to take direct action in the DMV. You can sign up here.

Thank you for fighting for reproductive justice with us.
